The Origin Story
Inspired by the traditional Finnish sport called Wife-Carrying, dating back since the 1800s. Origin of which is somewhat debated, with my favourite story being;
· Ronkainen the Robber and his thieves trained to be faster and stronger by carrying big and heavy sacks through an obstacle course, from which this sport evolved.

I fell in love with the sport and started hosting such events regularly to provide fun, laughter, and some time to catch up with loved ones.

A Boer carries his Vrou, his neighbour’s Vrou, or a willing participant next to the field (weighing 49kgs or above) across a hurdle race 120m in length containing one wet and two dry obstacles.
The winning Boer receiving the winning Vrou’s weight in beer, plus the winning Vrou receives a spa voucher for two. team sport family fun
